There have been a lot of fisticuffs over 2007 Pinot Grigio. Basically the Italians can't make as much as we all want to drink. But we have managed to come out on top. While everyone else was playing around with their calculators, we went and bought our wine before the vintage was finished. And it turns out we got a great price too.
We were recently delighted by the powers of Aconcagua to make inky, dense and almost Mediterranean style wines. And just when we thought the concentration of fruit couldn't get any better, our friends whipped out the 'reserve' range. Wow.
It looks good (good for dinner parties), it goes brilliantly with food of any description (ditto), great Burgundy snob appeal, and thankfully also tastes pretty darn good too. The most useful wine in your cellar. Clean, crisp and bone dry. A classic.
