Wine Guide

Find out how dry or sweet our white wines are, and how weighty our reds are.

White & Rose Wines
Bone Dry
Red wine strength 2
These wines don't even have the smallest lick of sugar. As dry as they come, they'd give the Sahara a run for it's money.
Dry
  Red wine strength 2
Very grown-up in style, our dry wines are perfect for when you want your fruit to behave itself.
Off Dry
    Red wine strength 2
Great if you like your white wine with plenty of fruit and fragrance. A smidgen of sugar helps the medicine go down*.
Medium
      Red wine strength 2
Lots, and lots, of ripe fruitiness. These wines will remind you of late summer orchards.
Sweet
        Red wine strength 2
For when a bowl of sugar just won't do!
Red wines
Light
Red wine strength 2
Perfect for lunch-time drinking, these wines won't weigh you down. Great for summer and occasionally good for chilling.
Medium / Light
  Red wine strength 2
These wines have enough body to compliment simple foods but are generally delicious on their own.
Medium
    Red wine strength 2
Everyone likes these wines. Easy going, versatile and approachable. Light enough to have on their own, but big enough to stand up with most foods.
Medium / Full Bodied
      Red wine strength 2
Great for when you want a robust foody wine, or just to drink something full of character and depth.
Full Bodied
        Red wine strength 2
If you want to know what it feels like to be knocked out by Mike Tyson, pick up a couple of these. Mind blowing.
Champagne & Sparkling Wines
Ultra Brut
Red wine strength 2
The driest Champagne known to man, Ultra Bruts are usually exceptionally light and elegant.
Brut
  Red wine strength 2
Most Champagnes are Bruts. Nice and dry, but still containing a few calories - which in our books is a good thing!
Dry
    Red wine strength 2
Still dry, but not quite as dry as a Brut. You'll find a little bit of fruitiness poking out the top of these bottles.
Demi-Sec
      Red wine strength 2
Believe it or not, Champagne doesn't have to be dry. So if you fancy a few bubbles in your glass, but you don't want to compromise on fruit, a Demi-Sec is the one for you.
Rich
        Red wine strength 2
With plenty of rich, sweet, fruit this is the perfect Champagne to accompany birthday cake.
* NB - This comment isn't to be taken literally. Virgin Wines do not condone the practice of washing down drugs, legal or otherwise, with a nice glass of chilled wine.
