This is our all time bestselling New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. You've probably never heard of Dr. John Forrest but he is New Zealand's winemaker of the year 2000. If you're a fan of Cloudy Bay a) this is the same grape variety, b) it is made next door, c) you can actually buy it! This has a price tag that would make most of its neighbours blush and is so good that we bought the lot! Drink chilled when you want to... chill.

Exclusive to us, at a fraction of the price of such names as Cloudy Bay, this gem was tailored specially for us by Chris Siefried. With a list of awards as long as your arm (2008 alone saw over 20 medals!), the family-run Seifried Estate is one of New Zealand's best. Using only hand-picked grapes sourced from the best Sauvignon region on earth, Marlborough, instead of his own Nelson Vineyard, and combined with Chris's winemaking genius, it's no surprise that the end result is out of this world.

Made for us by New Zealand's Winemaker of the year 2000 (and he keeps getting better), in the cool climate of Marlborough - one of the few regions that can rival Burgundy at its' best. Our customer, Georgie says it's "very smooth, if you try one Pinot Noir this year, try this one". Velvet smooth, strawberry notes, gentle tannins, warming alcohol and medium bodied.

The only way to describe Palliser is that it tastes like a tropical fruit punch has exploded in your mouth! Palliser combines elderflower, grapefruit, mango and gooseberry, with a piercingly refreshing streak of lime. The highly acclaimed 2006 vintage was "New Zealand's most successful Sauvignon Blanc" and we think the 2008 is just as good. So don't compromise, go straight for the best.

It's no wonder this is so difficult to get your hands on these days. One taste of the tropical fruit flavours and big, bold citrus zest that are the hallmarks of this top NZ Sauvignon make it abundantly clear that this is staking its claim as one of, if not the top Kiwi Sauvignons. A classic wine that deserves some pretty classic seafood.

Ouch! This is so sharp it hurts! A spine-tingling Sauvignon Blanc from the good people of Marlborough, New Zealand. This area is renowned for producing some pretty tasty wine and this is so intense, it's almost painful! Brace yourself for pure unadulterated flavours of gooseberry, green tomato and passion fruit. Wicked with salads, cold meats and gazpacho.

When will we start drinking Riesling again? It is arguably the best white grape of them all but many people are still reluctant to buy anything without Chardonnay on the label. Never oaked, this is for those who like their wines crisp, fruity, with a 'whoosh' of acidity. This will age brilliantly with its screw cap and should continue to develop for 5 or 6 years. Steely, floral, dry and the perfect partner to fish or white meat.

The Gold medal winning Auntsfield Estate is home to Marlborough's first colonial vineyard and winery. First established in 1873, the estate is now under the care of the Cowley family. Father, Graeme, a former racing driver, took on the task of expanding the estate with his elder son Ben, estate manager, and younger son Luc, winemaker. Their Sauvignon Blanc received Gold at the IWC 2006 awards - but with a heritage and the passion that only a family run winery can produce that's only to be expected.

Pinot Noir is a difficult grape to cultivate. But New Zealand growers have managed to become a centre of excellence for this prima donna of the wine world. And one of the very best is Fromm winery. 100% pure Pinot Noir, this is a rich and plumy wine with subtle flavours of herbs and earth, perfectly balancing the generous fruit. From the 2005 vintage this is now ready to drink and, if you can resist temptation, will cellar up to 2015 (although much more likely to be open by about 19:30!)
