If you are a fan of the Merlot from this man Brian McGuigan, you are going to love this! More of those soft, juicy, easy to drink flavours, with just a little more spice - a pleasure to quaff with red meat and roast vegetables. We predict that this is destined for great things.

Winemakers can be a rebellious lot. Premium winemakers who normally pay their bills producing recipe wines for the big brands secretly want to make the kind of wine they love. So, when we want a juicy, peachy Chardonnay from Padthaway, Penfold's region of choice for this grape, all we have to do is ask. Result, premium, tropical Single Vineyard Chardonnay, made from stock stolen from super-premium brands, for next to nothing. And now voted YOUR Wine of The Year, 2008

Plummeting prices for boutique Aussie wines mean that super premium, single vineyard boutique wines are affordable for the first time ever. Make hay while the sun shines, before the rest of the world finds out and prices go back up again.

If you think that there is nothing you enjoy more than ripping open a packet of fruit pastilles and scoffing the lot, then think again. Here we have the liquid equivalent with a little alcohol in it. Whether you delight in this at home with your mates over a nice leg of lamb on a Sunday, the scrumptious strawberry and blackcurrant fruit will have you needing to 'unwrap' another immediately.

What could be better than a belt-and-braces Shiraz from its spiritual home, the Barossa Valley? Answer: nothing, if you like rich, decadent sweetly-fruited wine for taking the edge off your day. A perfect wine to drink as you cook, the real magic ingredient in your cooking.

Every blue moon or so a priceless cache of Show Reserve wines is released from the grand old Yalumba cellar to give the world a fleeting glimpse of dessert wine heaven. This classic Aussie style - super-ripe muscat fortified and oak-aged for many years - is luscious, tawny-coloured essence of liquefied raisins lashed with chocolate, caramel, spices, nuts and brandy. A delicious dessert wine. And lovely with a decent chunk of Stilton too.

Ever bitten into a ripe peach, just plucked from the tree on a hot summers day? No, we haven't either, but we reckon it tastes like this. The combination of peachy Viognier with UNOAKED Chardonnay is deliciously fragrant, but still dry.

Our man Steve has done it again. Selecting only the very best grapes from the best regions he has combined the steely freshness of Eden Valley riesling and the voluptuousness of Adelaide Hills viognier. Elegant and restrained with heaps of fruity flavours. Lush.

If you want premium wine at economy prices, this is the one for you. From McLaren one of the leading white wine producing regions in Oz, a ridiculously good value for money. Gloriously fruity, so clean and crisp (this wine is NOT oaked, so no caramel/butter flavours) and perfect for roast chicken. Unbeatable value.

Another great Single Vineyard parcel from the effervescent Mr Grimley. Coonawarra is essentially the Bordeaux of Oz. A slightly cooler climate than the rest of the country gives traditional Bordeaux blends like this a lovely herbal finish. Think super-charged Claret, without the hefty price tag.
